The market opens in about eight weeks!

Early spring planting of Walla Walla, Sweet Spanish Red, Sweet Spanish Yellow, and Sweet Spanish White onions — in time for summer!

We’ve spent the last several months planning … and now we’re planting! High tunnels, which are like unheated greenhouses, let us plant in the fields much earlier, as they provide environmental protection and control compared to open field conditions, along with the ability to grow the crops right in the ground. First up: Tomatoes! This year we’re planting 50varieties.

A winter of frigid temperatures and heavy snowfalls left the fields in great shape, and the deep frosts are helping kill pests that burrow deep and go dormant over the winter. Plus, all that pesky snow we’ve had to deal with gives us abundant moisture. We’re hopeful for hearty crops.

In the meantime, the nicer weather means more people are enjoying fast dinners on the grill. Have you tried our brats? Varieties include mild German, spicy Pepper Jack and spicy Jalapeno Cheddar, and can be delivered right to your door!
